Committee members asked whether having another family member involved in planning and zoning would present an appearance-of-conflict issue. Johnston and a colleague said they work well together, have different perspectives and would recuse from votes if necessary. Members encouraged the committee to review the other two applicants (Nicholas and another applicant listed in the packet) and to submit a recommendation to Town Council before the prescribed packet deadline if they reached consensus.
