Town staff: new town-center and median signs in production; LED install delayed

Town staff updated the committee on a multi-part signage effort intended to improve wayfinding and highlight public parking in the town center. Ned West (senior planner / S6) said painting is finished and that two contracts are in place — one to manufacture signs now in production and another to provide vinyl overlays for aging median signs on Lake Dillon Drive.
West said the team is pursuing a low-cost approach this year, including general call-outs for business activity and public parking and vinyl overlays where full replacements are not in budget. He also described difficulties with an LED front-entry sign replacement that was intended to be a one-day remove-and-replace but has experienced unexpected installation delays; staff said they expect the new signs will be higher resolution when completed. Committee members applauded the "easy wins" such as repainting sail signs and urged follow-through on front-entry concepts as budgets allow.
