Becky Lynch, leader of Becky and the Swinging Bards, used the Stow Council on Aging barbecue to promote a free fundraising event the band plans to hold on August 9 in the Juniper Hill area from 2 to 5 p.m. Lynch said the event is funded by Beat Haven and will include ice cream and live music.
Lynch described Beat Haven as a nonprofit that helps make live music more affordable for seniors, people with disabilities and veterans, and encouraged attendees to come by and support the band’s fundraising effort. She thanked the COA for inviting the band and closed by inviting neighbors to attend the Aug. 9 fundraiser.
