Board advances multiple policy updates in second and first readings

During the June 17 meeting, the board completed second readings and approved a set of policy updates including Policy 1303 (items to review annually), Policy 1405 (School Board Use of Email and Social Media expanded to electronic communications), Policy 2150 and 2150P1 (copyright compliance guidance), Policy 7400P3 and 7400P4 (procurement standards for federal awards), Policy 7403 (procurement for school meal programs), Policy 7455 (Federal Debarment and Suspension) and Policy 8103 (vehicles other than school buses). The minutes note that some of the procurement updates are required by federal award rules and that new recordkeeping and substitution language was added.
The board also approved first readings of Policy 4210 (Work Day), Policy 5397 (Board relationship with the SREA), Policy 5430P (Employee Benefit Schedule), Policy 5700P (Substitute Pay) and review of Policy 8200 (Local School Wellness). All board members present voted aye on the second readings and on the first readings as recorded in the minutes.
