Agency official reviewed the CRA parking inventory, saying the agency currently controls parking between the Park Place Garage, Bank of America and the Mount Moriah surface lot and that the portfolio totals roughly 273 spaces. Staff noted an earlier addition of about 60 spaces at New England and described the proposed lease extension with upfront lease payment and clawback clauses to preserve CRA leverage over next-decade use.
The presenter said the lease structure would keep rental rates low while allowing the property owner to make certain site improvements. Staff also noted the agreement’s clauses were designed to ensure the CRA can respond if the property’s use changes over a 10‑year extension.
