Aurora officials urge residents to respond to special-census mailers to protect services and planning

Mayor John Lash said the count will help determine staffing for police and fire, water and sewer infrastructure and other city services. “We want Aurora to be the largest 2nd largest city in the state of Illinois. I wanna hang on to that,” Lash said, and later added, “We can't let Naperville take us over.”
Panelists asked community partners to host information tables, spread word of the unique household codes in mailers, and point residents to the My Voice Aurora webpage for tract lookups and details. The discussion closed with a reminder that residents should keep mailers and complete the online form quickly to lower the need for enumerator follow-up.
