Board approves $150-per-day penalty recommendation for 102 East Circle Drive short-term rental

Board members asked whether the property owner had communicated intentions to stop renting; Parks said there had been emails indicating both an intent to comply and assertions of property rights, and recommended the board impose the fine recommendation. A motion to accept staff's recommendation carried by voice vote. The board ordered respondents to contact the code inspector to verify compliance and noted that repeat violations within five years may be treated as repeat offenses with higher fines.
