Gilbert Education Foundation liaison Jill Humphreys told the board the foundation has planned a fundraiser toward the end of September, likely to be held at Andretti's in Chandler, and that the foundation will receive a donation from Safeway tied to a new store opening near the district. "So towards the end of September, the Gilbert Education Foundation has a fundraiser...And then, also, we're receiving Gilbert Education Foundation is receiving a generous donation from Safeways," Humphreys said.
Humphreys noted the donation will be presented at the end of July in connection with the new Safeway store opening near Campo Verde; she encouraged board members and the community to participate in foundation activities that support students and staff.
