Council schedules interviews, midyear budget workshop, bus tour and fire open house
Summary
Council scheduled interviews for commission vacancies (July 22), the Arbor West Apartments grand opening (July 28), a midyear budget workshop (Aug. 26 at 6 p.m.), the annual bus tour (Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.) and the fire department open house (Oct. 3, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.).
City staff presented five administrative scheduling items and the council approved them during the meeting.
Staff said interviews for Parks Commission, Planning Commission, and EDA vacancies will be held Wednesday, July 22 at City Hall. The Arbor West Apartments grand opening was announced for Tuesday, July 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 4631 Rosemary Way. Staff recommended and council approved scheduling the midyear budget workshop for Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers. The council also scheduled the annual citywide bus tour for Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m., and the Fire Department open house the same day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mayor Mary Whitehead and council members moved and seconded the scheduling motions; each passed with the ayes carrying. Staff said locations and additional logistics will be finalized and communicated to council and the public.
