Mr. Lundberg presented the districts financial snapshot for June: the district began the month with approximately $30,261,000, received roughly $5,000,000 during June, spent about $7,872,000 and closed the month around $27,400,000. He identified fund balances across general, capital and special education funds and reported payroll for June of $2,935,100.
Lundberg singled out capital and operational items: $252,000 for Berkman Valley Elementary playground equipment as noted on page 3, contributing to a total playground spend of $660,000; debt service payments including a $3,175,000 US Bank item; and a food-service department loss of $371,000 compared with a budgeted loss of $95,000. "I did note on page 3, Berkman Valley Elementary playground equipment, 252,000," Lundberg said when summarizing large-dollar items. The board approved the bills and claims after the presentation.
