The Selectboard voted to approve the Town Meeting and Police District warnings with current budget numbers included and made two petition-related decisions: they will include a nonbinding resolution supporting H.433 (legislation related to health care) on the warning and they decided not to place on the warning a petition requesting the board adopt a pledge regarding equality that included references to Palestinian rights.
Board members and staff indicated concerns that the equality-pledge language could conflict with existing contracts and future funding opportunities; the board suggested the petition could still be raised from the floor at Town Meeting. The amended motion to finalize the Warning passed unanimously.
