Board approves 2024–25 budget timeline, moves second reading and next meeting dates

The West Bath School Board approved the proposed 2024–25 budget calendar and adjusted meeting dates to ensure adequate time for workshops and a second reading.
Superintendent Emily walked the board through the proposed schedule of readings, workshops and public sessions. She described two workshop dates (March 26 and April 2) for in-depth line-by-line discussion, said April 9 would serve as the second reading and vote opportunity, and proposed April 16 as a short meeting to approve warrants for town timelines. After discussing member availability, the board approved moving its regular meeting and second reading to April 9 and retaining two tentative workshop placeholders to allow additional time for discussion if needed.
The board also approved changing its next regular meeting from Feb. 12 to Feb. 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., and confirmed a special town meeting for Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Chair moved to approve the budget timeline and members voted in favor.
