The Kiowa Public Works Authority on Jan. 29 approved the purchase of parts and new testing equipment for the Water Plant not to exceed $8,240 and authorized an annual maintenance contract for three generators.
Tracy Reed of RSMeacham CPA & Associates presented financial and purchases reports earlier in the meeting. The minutes state caustic pumps have been connected and a lake generator has been installed; an automatic transfer switch was added and chain-link fencing placed around the generator. The board approved entering a contract with Clifford Power Generator Company to schedule yearly maintenance for the three generators. D. Drake said he was "very satisfied" with the Water Plant's direction in resolving outstanding issues, per the recorded minutes.
The lab-equipment purchase was approved on a motion by M. Sexton seconded by J. Ray and carried with M. Sexton-yes, J. Ray-yes, T.S. Barker-absent, T. Horn-yes, D. Drake-yes, J. Hasty-yes and K. Burgett-absent. The generator maintenance contract was approved on a motion by D. Drake seconded by M. Sexton with the same roll-call pattern. The minutes note meters are scheduled to be calibrated at no cost to the town and that the D-cant line has been snaked.
