Council approves two USDA loan resolutions totaling $2.517 million for pumping-station project

Trappe’s Town Council unanimously approved two loan resolutions on Feb. 4 to finance a planned pumping-station upgrade. President Newnam read Loan Resolution RUS Bulletin 1780-27 and moved approval of one resolution in the amount of $1,141,000 and a second resolution in the amount of $1,376,000; Commissioner Chase seconded both motions and each passed unanimously.
Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan told the council the resolutions are required to close the USDA loans and noted the Council had already authorized undertaking the loans with Ordinance 5-2024. Ryan said the USDA closing for the pumping-station project is scheduled for Feb. 19. The approvals cover the loan documentation required under RUS Bulletin 1780-27 and clear the way for final loan closing and construction planning.
