Trappe approves joint-use agreement for Home Run Baker Park; final county approval still required to receive funds

Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan reviewed an updated draft of the Home Run Baker Park joint-use agreement between the Town of Trappe and Talbot County. Ryan said the County removed language that would have made the Town responsible for all maintenance and operation; the draft retains requirements that the park be open for public use at reasonable hours and without discrimination. Ryan said the Town needs to create a plan for handling funds and that execution by the County Council is required before funds can be received.
Following discussion Commissioner Chase moved to approve the Joint-Use Agreement; President Newnam seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Attorney Ryan said she hopes the county places the agreement on its next agenda because the agreement is a condition to receive the funds discussed.
