James Cook told the council that Well 4R is producing better than expected and, based on production numbers, provides approximately 96 additional EDUs. He said GMB’s Katherine McAllister confirmed the assessment and submitted a recommendation letter. Cook also reported the chemical storage building has an 8–12 week lead time and is expected to be completed in January or February; Rauch requested a letter stating the storage building would be finished by March 1.
Council considered a motion by Commissioner Sullivan, seconded by President Newnam, to grant conditional approval to recognize and add the additional 96 EDUs to the town’s available water system capacity, effective upon issuance of the Certificate of Potability for Well 4R and written confirmation from GMB that the well is operational and integrated into the Water Treatment Plant. The motion passed unanimously. Cook additionally said Lakeside has begun working with Delmarva Power on street lights for Lake Tahoe (installation expected by Spring 2026, pending Delmarva approval) and that the Lakeside water tower plans have been submitted to MDE with a projected 18-month timeline after approval to complete the tower.
