Measure E funds city positions; staff lists 15 current vacancies in funded roles

Assistant Finance Director A. Pedrosa confirmed there are positions funded by Measure E but several are vacant. Staff provided a listing of 15 vacancies funded by Measure E, naming roles such as park maintenance worker, recreation assistant, librarian, library technician, customer experience manager, deputy director of library and community services, technical services manager, library technology coordinator, community education manager, property evidence technician, public safety recruitment coordinator, a police sergeant and two community service aides.
Pedrosa and Finance Director Selena Andrews said vacancies reflect routine hiring cycles and that the city had about 67 open positions citywide as of the most recent count. "Positions get posted as the department's request essentially...we post positions. We hope they're enough qualified applicants, and we fill them," staff said.
