President Newnam read Ordinance 7-2025, which authorizes a Shore United Bank Line of Credit in the principal amount of $645,000 to provide interim financing for the design and construction of an enhanced nutrient removal (ENR) upgrade to the town’s wastewater treatment plant. Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan said the loan would be repaid by grant funds received by the Maryland Department of the Environment; she stated the LOC would carry an interest rate of 5.25% and a maturity date of Dec. 31, 2026.
Commissioner Potter moved to introduce Ordinance 7-2025 and Commissioner Chase seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The council scheduled a public hearing on Jan. 7 at 6:00 p.m. for further public comment and deliberation.
