Mayor Rezin Hudkins told the Town of Nutter Fort Council on Jan. 13 that he has formed an outside committee to help with hiring the next police chief when the current chief retires. The mayor said the committee will work on a job description and narrowing applicants; he indicated the job will likely be posted by the end of the month.
Officer Adam Zahradnik also reported that Chief Godwin is revamping hiring procedures in the police department. The council recorded the discussion as informational; no motion or formal vote was taken on hiring procedures at this meeting. The mayor noted that no council action was necessary on the agenda item at this time.
