Board appoints and swears in Keith Merrill to fill vacant Seat 1
Summary
The River Ridge CDD board nominated and unanimously appointed longtime resident Keith Merrill to fill the unexpired Seat 1 term (expires Nov. 2026); Mrs. Adams administered the Oath of Office and staff reviewed Sunshine Law, ethics training and disclosure requirements.
Chair Bob Schultz nominated Keith Merrill to fill the vacant Seat 1 during the Oct. 22 meeting. Mr. Schultz cited Merrill’s long service in Pelican Sound homeowners association roles and recommended his appointment. No other nominations were made.
On motion by Mr. Schultz and seconded by Mr. Twombly, "with all in favor," the board approved the appointment of Keith Merrill to fill Seat 1. Mrs. Adams, a notary, administered the Oath of Office immediately after the vote. Mrs. Adams and District Counsel Tony Pires reviewed required ethics training, disclosure filing, the Sunshine Law and restrictions on electronic communications for board members.
The appointment brings a new supervisor with HOA experience onto the board; Mr. Schultz thanked Mr. Ofenloch for his willingness to serve. The board did not take further personnel action at the meeting beyond officer nominations later adopted by resolution.
