Chief of Police Jess Wilson reported monthly activity totals — 870 contacts, 60 calls for service, 28 impounds and 26 releases — and said his department's police dog completed certification training.
Wilson raised an equipment concern: the department's police truck has restricted acceleration. He said he will research replacement options and report back at the next council meeting; D. Drake suggested the town consider acquiring another vehicle for the Police Department and transferring the current unit to Maintenance.
On intergovernmental cooperation, Wilson briefed the council on a Mutual Aid Agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He said that if officers stop someone and suspect the person is in the country illegally, ICE will review the individual's status and, if detention is required, provide the necessary paperwork and arrange transport to Tulsa or Oklahoma City; ICE would reimburse the Town for associated expenses. The council voted 5-0 to sign the Mutual Aid Agreement contingent on attorney approval.
Separately, the council voted unanimously to pay a $100 monthly cleaning stipend to the employee designated to clean the Police Department; Chief Wilson will identify the designee. Both votes were recorded as carried with M. Sexton, J. Ray, T.S. Barker, T. Horn and D. Drake voting yes.
The council's actions on the ICE agreement were explicit that final execution depends on legal review, and the meeting minutes record no additional operational directives beyond that contingency.
