Neighbors press code enforcement as magistrate orders fines for repeat nuisance property on Ocean Drive

Lee Terrell, another adjacent resident, said the property has been uninhabited for about a decade and urged more decisive action, saying it "basically should be condemned, taken over by the town." Magistrate Watts entered the staff-recommended order for repeat-violation fines to commence 08/04/2025 and encouraged continued communication with city departments for remediation.
The magistrate acknowledged limits on city action for private property but said repeated enforcement and registration requirements give the city tools to pursue compliance and protect neighbors.
