Player group urges resurfacing and drainage fixes at Detweiler Courts

"Our courts are in dire need of some resurfacing," said Mr. Romero, who said the group has about 60 players and plays daily. Romero described pooled water after rain, uneven levels that leave puddles when squeegees are used, and hollow spots beneath the playing surface that suggest undermining.
He asked that staff (he named Salazar and Ray) evaluate the courts and consider funding in a future budget year, noting that the courts were partially resurfaced in 2017 and lines were painted in 2022. Commissioners thanked him and noted the concern would be considered as staff works through capital and maintenance priorities.
