Assistant City Engineer Mike Gasperger presented the Headworks rail system installation as a capital improvement project intended to allow public works staff to replace pumps safely without hiring outside contractors. "The wet well is probably about 38 feet deep. It's a real safety problem that could be well, I hope will be fixed," Gasperger said, noting three bidders and that Bateson Enterprises was the apparent low responsive bidder.
Staff recommended awarding the work to Bateson Enterprises for $71,354; a council motion to approve the intent to award was moved and seconded and carried without recorded opposition. The resolution codifying acceptance and statutory recording steps will follow as part of project close-out and payment tracking.
