City staff reported the results of the 2026 Millenville base-repair and mill-and-fill bidding process. Chuck (speaker 13) outlined the project scope—base repairs, mill and fill—and said capital improvement funds of $464,000 are available. Bids opened July 14 with three bidders; staff recommended awarding the contract to Glenn Hawbaker at $415,725.50 after review of bid documents and contractor experience.
A council member moved to award the contract to Hawbaker and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said construction is expected to take approximately one month (weather dependent) and that the work will cover specified streets including Robin, Wright, Krotzinger, Crestview and Benzinger (and possibly Roseley).
Council asked about start timing and procurement steps; staff said they will execute contract documents and coordinate schedules with the contractor.
