City Manager Westhoff provided status updates on multiple capital projects. He said valves and tie-ins for a water-main replacement at 12th and Riley/Mound Drive are complete and that work is continuing into Mound Drive. The Patriot Street Bridge contractor is preparing reinforcement for a deck pour, and Elephant Park’s light poles and picnic shelter footings are installed with the splash pad largely finished.
Westhoff reported the 15th Street sewer separation project is 95% complete in design and that temporary and permanent easements are being prepared. He noted the 15th Street project will be fully funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through congressionally directed spending awarded to the city. He also mentioned a March 16 joint public hearing request from county commissioners related to the Neighborhood Revitalization Program.
