The Reinbeck City Council voted April 20 to reset the FY2027 Budget Public Hearing for Thursday, April 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. after learning the required four-day public-notice period was not met. Councilmember Bueghly moved to reschedule the hearing; the motion was seconded by Pease and carried on a 4–0 vote.
City staff reported that the Grundy Register had been purchased and the new owner changed the paper’s publication day from Thursday to Friday, preventing the city from meeting the four-day notice requirement for the originally scheduled hearing. The minutes direct staff to publish the new hearing date and proceed with the FY2027 budget process at the reset date.
