At its April 6 meeting the Reinbeck City Council adopted two parking-related ordinances and a mobile food vendor ordinance. Mayor Eiffler opened a public hearing on amending Chapter 69.11 (20-minute parking at 423 Main Street) and Chapter 70.08 (parking violations increased to $50). No comments were received; the council gave first consideration and suspended the two-meeting requirement to adopt Ordinance #2026-04OR (20-minute parking) and Ordinance #2026-05OR (parking violations) by unanimous roll call votes.
The council also considered Ordinance #2026-03OR to add provisions for Chapter 124 Mobile Food Service Vendors; the ordinance received second consideration, the two-meeting rule was suspended and the ordinance was adopted unanimously. In related business, council approved Resolution #2026-10R to transfer funds for upcoming obligations and approved Resolution #2026-11R to propose an ordinance and set a hearing on new utility rates for May 4, 2026. Motions on these items carried on recorded votes.
