The Reinbeck City Council on July 6 approved a resolution to place a general-obligation loan proposal on the November ballot to support a fire department building project.
The fire department told the council it has $400,354.47 in its building project fund and will continue fundraising but asked the council to move forward with placing a general-obligation loan not to exceed $4,000,000 before voters. Council member Wambold moved to approve Resolution #2026-16R to call the election; Trepp seconded the motion. The roll-call vote was unanimous (Wambold, Pease, Johnson, Trepp and Bueghly — all aye), and the resolution was adopted.
The motion sends the question to the ballot so voters can decide on the proposed borrowing; the minutes do not specify a ballot language or bond schedule. The council’s approval authorizes the city clerk and legal staff to complete required election filings.
