Public works director Danny (S4) presented two electrical options for a leaning pole in the park; the council favored the option to remove the pole and mount floodlights on shelters for better coverage, approving the work for $5,200. Council also approved a $875 bid to drop a 50-amp service at Veterans Park plus $1,200 for a 150-foot flexible cord to reach the shelter. In a separate motion the council authorized an additional $3,500 for completing shelter electrical work (ceiling lights and outlets); all park electrical items passed on unanimous votes.
Parks & Rec representative (S5) asked the council to allow local nonprofits to sell snacks at concession stands during hosted games and events and to allocate $2,500 from the Parks & Rec budget toward music for Hometown Days. Council discussed operational details (waivers, staffing, a raffle or rotation to assign nonprofit slots) and approved the concession policy (5-0) and the Hometown Days allocation (4-0-1). S5 said organizers will coordinate cleanup and oversight with public works and Parks & Rec volunteers.
