Students highlight internships while Student Government funds lawn and tests delivery robots

Student Government President Gianna Ihuoma told trustees SG prioritized engagement, safety, advocacy and strategic investments in student life. "SG also allocated $250,000 for improvements to the Cohen Student Union lawn," Ihuoma said, and SG reported funding for six students to participate in a legislative internship program at the Florida Capitol and a 20-member delegation for FGCU Day at the Capitol. Ihuoma said SG partnered with campus units on a campus-safety walk with University Police and with Chartwells to pilot Grubhub delivery robots for campus convenience.
Earlier in the meeting, Vice President Paul Dosal introduced three students — Ashley Fearday, Boaz Ginns and Nadia Falcone — who described how internships added value to their degrees and regional workforce readiness. Trustees praised the internship emphasis and noted these programs align with FGCU’s PBF metric selection and workforce-alignment initiatives.
