County adopts electioneering boundaries at relocated polling center ahead of November election

Guerra said the maps show red (restricted) and green (allowed) areas and described a 100-foot buffer rule for polling-site entrances and a 1,000-foot buffer for amplified sound; private property remains subject to owners' permissions. "As soon as it's finalized here, it'll also be posted on the Jim Wells County Elections website," Guerra said.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about sidewalk allowances and cross-street areas; Guerra replied that judges at each site will set distance markers and that the county will provide the finalized map to site chairs. The court moved and approved the rules to become effective beginning with the Nov. 3, 2026 general election.
