Chief Svendsen provided the police report for June: 32 calls for service, 14 traffic citations and warnings, and one warrant and arrest. He reported that the department hosted Free Active Threat Integrated Response (ATIR) training on July 10 at the Lyons Community Center with coordinated first-responder participation and that a follow-up session is scheduled for July 28.
Svendsen also said an applicant, Webb, submitted a packet to the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center for the academy beginning August 30; Webb’s anticipated start date with the City is August 3 pending completion of the TABE test and other requirements. The department is also working through disposition of old evidence from past cases to ensure evidence storage and records remain current.
