Resident tells commissioners bus tablets went "black" after new AI system

Ken Wardside of Chambersburg raised a public-comment concern about bus tablets going black after the county-installed AI system began operating. Wardside said he spoke with a bus driver who described tablets losing display and location information, and he reported that IT ordered all tablets shut down late the prior day as an immediate corrective step.
"A lot of the tablets are going black when they try and use them ... Late yesterday, IT ordered all tablets to shut down. They hopefully fixed the problem because when they came up, everything seemed to be working," Wardside said. He told the Board that when tablets went black drivers and dispatch did not know where to send vehicles.
No formal action was recorded in response to the comment; commissioners acknowledged the report and moved on to the consent agenda. County staff should be contacted for technical follow-up and any operational remediation details.
