The Auburn Washburn Board of Education recognized Christian Hartman Babb for capturing the Class 6A 100-meter dash title on May 30, 2026 in Wichita. Coaches and board members highlighted that Babb set school records (100m: 10.36; 200m: 21.4; 4x100: 42.77) and qualified for national competition, finishing sixth at a subsequent national meet.
"He ran 10.36," a coach said while reviewing the season highlights and noted that the 100-meter school record dated to 1985. Senator Dietrich presented a Kansas senate tribute and individual framed recognitions and invited Babb and the team to the Capitol for floor recognition in January.
