State Librarian announces new deputy, needs assessment progress and outreach activity

Baker confirmed that John Thill has been hired as deputy state librarian and will begin on May 18. He also said the first phase of the Idaho Library Needs Assessment Survey is complete and that the management team will meet to discuss results and next steps.
Baker summarized outreach and operational work: E-Services roadshows were held regionally in April, Idaho Talking Book Service outreach reached 113 individuals during visits, and HVAC work at the ICfL office is expected to finish by June 2. Commissioners asked questions about shipping and logistics for youth services materials, and staff described pre-shipping efforts to reduce current shipping needs.
