The facilities committee presented project estimates and timelines for two major capital efforts in the district. Miss Stone said the Newtown Elementary project budget is estimated at just under $46,000,000 with the design phase expected to be completed by Dec. 2026 and a project closeout date in Sept. 2029. A separate middle-school project was estimated at about $13,000,000 and also includes contingency funds and planned use of modular classrooms.
"The project budget for Hill Hillcrest is estimated at just under 46,000,000 with the design phase to be completed by year end, December 20, 2026," the facilities chair reported, correcting the site name to Newtown Elementary during remarks and promising regular updates. The facilities report also listed smaller, but material, work: north and south laser printer exhaust fans, dehumidification and UV replacement at the North Natatorium, floor-tile removal at Richborough Middle School in preparation for a staff move, and environmental testing at the Chancellor Center.
Miss Stone moved to approve consent items addressing those facilities actions as part of the consent agenda; the board marked the consent items as approved. The committee said it will continue to provide regular updates on budgets, contingency use, and anticipated construction stages to the board and community.
