Julie, speaking for Public Works, updated the council on infrastructure and recent operations. She said trees in the median at 8th and Highway 56 were removed and repaired, a pool pump motor failed and Douglas Pump quoted $4,867 to rebuild it with a 7–10 day turnaround while a new pump would cost about $5,000 and the city plans to order a spare, and fiber work to connect the new substation has components with roughly a six-week lead time (SEG 305–317; SEG 326–331).
"The quote that they gave us was, $4,867 to rebuild the motor with a 7 to 10 day turnaround. A new pump is around 5,000," Julie said, and added that Pat’s crew continued work on lines running to the new substation (SEG 314–317; SEG 329–331). She also reported the citywide cleanup filled nine dumpsters with trash and six with metal; the city will await recycling-company pricing to finalize costs (SEG 336–339).
Julie said the next Public Works meeting will be July 7 at 09:00 at the Public Works Building (SEG 341–342). Councilors thanked the Public Works staff for their work on the cleanup and storm response (SEG 343–376).
