Officials said the work is necessary to preserve the facility ahead of the swim meet season and the outdoor water-park schedule.
The board also approved a resolution authorizing purchase of timing, scoring and video-display equipment from Colorado Timing Systems using an existing contract; staff said the current system has reached end of life and is no longer supported. Members noted the facility hosts regional competitions and the improvements are critical to maintaining that capability.
