City staff presented a sequence of budget ordinances for FY26 and FY27 and amendments requested by the Board of Education. The FY26 adjustments close completed projects and redirect remaining dollars to active projects; the FY27 first-reading adjustments set funding for school crossing guards, transit dollars and utility project allocations. Board members approved the ordinances on first reading and later adopted FY26 adjustments on final reading by unanimous vote.
A separate school-related ordinance amended the FY27 school general-purpose fund and project fund to record donations and make adjustments tied to construction of Lynn Garden Elementary and other active projects. Board members noted these are standard budget housekeeping items connected to projects already under way or planned, and staff said the actions align the city’s books with Board of Education requests and grant timing.
