City Clerk Kathy Brandt presented recommended adjustments to the 2026 council calendar to avoid conflicts with holidays.
Brandt (speaker 10) noted that the city's ordinance establishes meetings on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month; this year the second Wednesday in November falls on Veterans Day and the fourth Wednesdays of November and December fall during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. Staff recommended rescheduling the November date to Nov. 18 and canceling other dates where quorum and attendance would be a concern.
Council members signaled agreement and asked staff to place the calendar changes on the next consent agenda for formal action and to circulate the exact dates. No formal vote on the calendar occurred during the work-session discussion; the item was set to be handled administratively through the consent agenda.
