Amanda Miller provided a brief summary of the Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA) General Assembly she attended, saying the event lets districts vote on WSSDA's legislative priorities. Miller described the conference as "fun, but tedious" and said the general theme of priorities was "funding (amply vs. fully) for schools and no unfunded mandates."
The board also approved an overnight band field trip. Motion 23/24-74 authorized Mr. Cameron to take the high school band to Anderson Lodge in Yale, Washington from Oct. 18–20. The minutes note that Mr. Cameron "will be bringing in experts for kids to hone their playing skills" and that the trip "will be paid by the students/boosters." The motion was recorded as carried unanimously.
