The board approved the first reading of procedure 3246P, covering restraint, isolation and other uses of reasonable force in district settings. The motion for the first reading was carried unanimously at the Sept. 24 meeting.
The board also approved the first reading of policy 5005, with a proposed change to the final paragraph suggested by Superintendent Peter Rosenkranz. Rosenkranz told the board he "will check with HR regarding subsequent background checks for staff," and the record shows the policy language was adjusted for that clarification. Both items were recorded as first readings; final adoption would require subsequent formal action if the board chooses to advance them beyond first reading.
