Kiona-Benton board approves Social Emotional Climate policy in final reading

The Kiona-Benton City School District Board voted Sept. 23 to adopt Policy 3112, Social Emotional Climate, in its final reading. Superintendent Pete Peterson told the board principals have been using the policy to help start the school year.
Director Gina Warner moved to approve the policy, and Director Rick Gonzales seconded. The motion passed on a 4–0 vote. The board record notes this was the final reading of Policy 3112 and that principals have applied it in schools as the year began.
Board Chair Josh Skipper and other members offered brief remarks of support following the approval. The board took no further action on amendments at the meeting; the policy adoption was recorded as approved.
