Elementary principal reports winter events, 250 students at glow party and upcoming WIDA testing

The district's elementary-school presenter told the board the school recently held a "glow" (black-light) party that accommodated roughly 250 students and that staff and families were highly engaged.
"We got to celebrate roughly 250 of our students at our 1st party," the presenter said, describing two 30-minute sessions split by grade bands and approximately 10 activities in the multipurpose room. The presenter also described Santa visiting classrooms on Dec. 9 and Dec. 11 for photos and trivia, and said the school concluded the month with a winter concert that drew strong community attendance.
On assessment, the presenter said Dibels testing finished early and MAP testing is ongoing; the school will administer WIDA testing at the end of the month. Board members were invited to visit classrooms and were thanked by school staff for their support.
