WSAC spotlights Academic Credit for Prior Learning and LEARN to boost adult attainment

Olive said ACPL has seen steady growth in credits awarded and cited the 2023 ACPL Legislative Report as evidence of expanding institutional commitment to recognizing adult learners’ prior experience.
On LEARN, staff described a monthly community-of-practice that focuses on understanding the adult-learner landscape, building partnerships, and gathering feedback to inform policy. Council members raised practical questions about connecting adult learners to existing programs and the stackability of aid; staff answered that some programs can stack with Pell and the Washington College Grant while others (for example, certain NGG and educator programs) do not.
