The Basehor City Council on Feb. 11 approved a rezoning (PRZ-01-25) to R-3 multifamily residential for a property near State Avenue and 158th Street. City Planner Alex Van Dyke said the comprehensive plan designates the corridor as commercial but R-3 would be a lower-intensity residential use than high-intensity commercial, and staff and the planning commission recommended approval.
Council members asked about a tree-line buffer on the west side and the planner confirmed the vegetation and drainage features are likely to remain in place. Council approved the rezoning 4-0; the planner reiterated that future development proposals would return for site and building review.
