Litchfield commissioners appoint John Campbell chair, extend terms to two years

At the April 9 meeting the board unanimously appointed John Campbell as chairman and voted to extend commissioner terms from one year to two years, with current terms set to expire 04/01/28 so future expirations fall in even years.
Commissioner Jack Hodges moved to appoint John Campbell as chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners & EMS; the motion was seconded by Michael Castelli and carried unanimously. The meeting minutes record the appointment and the chairman opened the balance of the session at 5:04 p.m.
Later in the meeting commissioners voted to extend the length of commissioner terms from one year to two years so that existing board members’ terms will now expire on April 1, 2028 and future expirations will fall in even years. Jack Hodges moved for the extension, Jon Torrant seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
