Royalton Selectboard elects officers, confirms liaisons for the year

The Royalton Selectboard opened its organizational meeting by approving the agenda and moving into officer elections and liaison assignments. A motion to approve the agenda passed by voice vote. Chair pro tem then called for nominations for the chair and other officer roles; "in that case, all those in favor of electing me as chair, say aye," the member seeking the post said during the vote.
After discussion about duties and communications, the board voted to elect its slate of officers and then proceeded through a long list of committee and liaison appointments, assigning members to wastewater, listers (including the upcoming reassessment workload), highway, police, planning commission, transfer station, public safety, buildings and grounds, recreation, library and more. Members emphasized flexibility to swap assignments when needed. The board also discussed sharing the warrants workload for the treasurer position and asked the newly assigned treasurer to coordinate with staff on expectations.
