Ari, a 2 Rivers planner supporting the region’s Thrive Communities program, told the Select Board Royalton will receive a $15,000 subaward that cannot fund capital investments but can pay for engineering, design, planning, community engagement or communications. "Royalton gets $15,000 through this Thrive community program as a subaward," Ari said, and added that the grant runs through June 2027.
Board members suggested priorities including a Railroad Street intersection design, sidewalks around the green, and a pedestrian-feasibility study at the Safford Street underpass. Ari said the sooner the town identifies a "wish list" for allowable uses, the more likely program managers will sign off and the funds can be spent without being clawed back.
